Being a student and living in Cardiff is definitely a lot different to living at home in Cornwall. As a fashion student, I feel I can express myself and wear things I wouldn’t necessarily wear at home. Bright colours and bold prints have slowly made their way into my wardrobe along with my neutral colours and staple pieces. At home I would wear plain not so out there items so I wouldn’t stand out and I would feel confident in what I was wearing. I have a go-too teal puffer jacket from urban outfitter from 3 years ago that I wear almost everyday, I love it and its definitely one of my favourite items of clothing that I own. I once bought some bright green jeans and pastel pink jeans, I wore them once or twice but I couldn’t get the confidence to wear them anymore, which is a shame because I wish I had the confidence to wear what I want and express myself.
Urban outfitters jacket £65 bought 3 years ago.
As a fashion student I’m always looking at trends, influencers and brands. I used to shop a lot on ‘Pretty Little Thing’ and ‘Missguided’ but in my last year of college I learnt all about fast fashion and the effects of fast fashion on the world. From that week I chose that I didn’t want to keep buying from fast fashion based brands and try and buy from higher end brands and brands that I know are against fast fashion. Charity shops are very good to find some clothing gems to fit into your everyday style. I have seen over the past few years that brands are bringing in a sustainable range, ASOS has launched a sustainable section which is helping people who can’t afford to spend loads of money on luxury brands help the environment by buying sustainable items on the high street price.

I would say that my style changes a lot, depending on the mood that I’m in, the season and the occasion. A mixture of classic and street style adds up to make my style, I think that I have seen a massive change in my style from when I was at home I have a lot more confidence here in cardiff. I usually shop online on sites such as ‘nasty gal’ but being at uni i find it hard to do that because it gets sent to my halls, because of this I go into town and shop in store. In Cornwall we don’t have that many high end stores and there are only a few highstreet stores that I like. When I’m in Cardiff I like to shop at urban outfitters, I also like stores such as topshop, Bershka and Stradivarius, I think these stores have a mixture of current trends and trends that are up and coming. They are not too expensive so they are accessible on my student budget which is good because I’m able to express myself easily.
