This documentary has helped me look at the most popular trends of 2018 and has helped me think about the way that I shop. Hopefully this helped the public see what has been happening and what people have been buying, not only did it help the public see what they are buying but it also highlights the importance of sustainability and the increase of people changing lifestyles to become vegan. The trend that has impacted the way that I shop is mostly sustainability and fast fashion. I became aware of fast fashion when I was in my first year of college, I researched fast fashion to help with my work and it made me realise how much i bought into the fast fashion scene.
I try and not buy from fast fashions shops like Misguided and Pretty Little Thing, which has been easy because now living in Cardiff city centre I can go into town and do my shopping in store. I try to be aware of what I am buying and try not to buy clothing all the time, I try and go in as many charity/vintage shops as I can and I try and buy second hand clothing or reuse my old clothing and turn it into something current.
I follow a lot of influencers on YouTube and Instagram who really do influence me. I have been watching Lucy Watson who was in the documentary for many years, from when she was in Made In Chelsea to now when she is a massive influencer and business women. Lucy is massive in the vegan industry and try’s to wear sustainable items, she wears Mercer Amsterdam shoes which are made out of pineapple leather and a lot from Stella McCartney. I want to be able to own sustainable items and have have them for life but at this age I cant afford to be spending hundreds of pounds. There needs to be a cheaper range of sustainable garments that everyone can afford and wear.

When this documentary came out it was the end for plastic bottles and in came the need for reusable travel mugs and water bottles. The need to have one was so big you almost felt judged if you had a plastic bottle. This was one of the things that social media made me feel like i should buy, i felt left out if I didn’t have one.
I think social media and influencers have made people buy things for years and thats never going to stop, you just need to feel good in what your buying.
